Charities
This is a list along with some information about the various charities we will be donating to. No charity is more important than another. They all do great work and so we will try and donate equally to each one. This is an ever growing list so keep checking back.
Operation Smile: (Supported by Zachary Levi who is a huge inspiration to the work we do) “Provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe.”
Bean’s Cafe: (Located in Anchorage, Alaska) “A center where the hungry and homeless are provided with hot nutritious meals, a warm and safe day shelter, information and referral assistance to health and human service programs.”
DSI Services: (Currently serving 30 counties in Indiana) “A nonprofit agency established in 1975 to help children and adults with mental, physical, and emotional disabilities reach their greatest potential at home, work and in the community.”
Habitat for Humanity: “A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian Ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build with people in need regardless of race or religion.”
Girls Inc.: “A nonprofit organization that inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through a network of local organizations in the United States and Canada.”
Alex’s Lemonade Stand: “To Raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures.
To encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer.”
Food on Foot: (Thanks to Nathan Fillion for letting us know about this amazing charity) “A nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the poor and homeless of Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and assistance in the transition to employment and life off the streets.”
Oncology Youth Connection: “OYC was established in 2008. Its mission is to support adolescents and young adults challenged with cancer by providing a community of peers to inspire resilience during and after treatment.”
Mind: “The leading mental health charity for England and Wales, Mind is a force for change.”
